New Mexican Cliffs, Landscape Paintings, Contemporary Landscape Art, Southwestern Art, Colorado Artist Carol Hein

9 by 12 inch original oil painting. Several years ago, while driving from Santa Fe back to Denver, I snapped a picture of some colorful cliffs along the side of the road. Whether you take Interstate 25 or the back roads it's a beautiful drive. A big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me while transitioning from Marketing Consultant at Hartford Insurance Group to full time painter. Just found out that 3 of my paintings were juried into Contemporary Fine Art International's Fall Show. The November issue of Southwest Art Magazine will advertise the show which runs from October 15th until December 28th. Santa Fe Adobe, Landscape Art. Contemporary Landscape Paintings, Southwestern Art, Colorado Artist Carol Hein

Santa Fe Adobe, 9 by 12 original oil painting. This beautiful little adobe home sits on Canyon Road, the epicenter of the art world in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I was last there a few years ago with a good friend. Time for another trip! It's snowing here today - not ready for this. Been hard at work on a new picture that is not cooperating and may end up in the reject pile. Off for some R&R. Tomorrow's another day and the unfinished painting will still be there. Looking for a good chicken recipe? Visit Kimberly Conrad's blog at kimberlyconraddailypaintings.blogspot.com , click on The Artful Palate tab and try Mel's Chicken. It is one of my kid's favorite dinners. To purchase contact Carol at carolhein@sbcglobal.net Visit my website carolhein.com

September Light, Contemporary Landscape Paintings, Landscape Art, Southwestern Art, Farms, Colorado Artist Carol Hein

September Light, 9 by 12 inch original oil painting on linen over hardboard. Fall is my favorite time of year. The light in Colorado pours from the sky, shadows lengthen and colors seem to vibrate. I stumbled upon this beautiful little farm several months ago and returned last week with a group of plein air painters. It has been abandoned but the Colorado Historical Society is in the process of restoring it. To purchase contact Carol at: carolhein@sbcglobal.net Visit my website: carolhein.com This picture is unframed but will fit in a standard 9 by 12 inch frame.

Are You Listening? Figurative Art, Figurative Paintings, Colorado Artist Carol Hein

My daughter-in-law and I enjoyed a great conversation, coffee and a sweet roll at a local farmer's market on a recent Saturday. The whole time this fellow texted while his lady friend tried to carry on a one sided conversation. As you can tell from her body language, she was not a happy camper.

Looking Out to Sea, Beach Scene, Mother and Child on Beach, Seascape Art, Seascape Paintings, Colorado Artist Carol Hein

12 by 9 inch original oil painting.

Someone asked if I have a painting partner. Yes, I do sometimes paint with other artists but most of the time Tank and Tucker are my "partners", never criticizing - just patiently waiting for their walk.

I will contribute $4.70 from each print sold to the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" program.
