Franktown Barn - 24 by 30 original oil painting by Colorado artist Carol Hein

This is one of my favorite barns in Franktown.  I was out last winter on a cold, snowy day trying to capture the beauty in the rolling hills near my home.  Did a quick sketch earlier this year to work out composition and color.  Just finished the final painting this morning.

Let's Get to Work - Original Oil Painting by Colorado Artist Carol Hein

Let's Get to Work - 9 by 12 Original Oil Painting by Colorado Artist Carol Hein

This old pick up sits in a field not far from my house.  Sometimes it is still used for chores which makes me happy.  After all, old does not mean useless.  :)

This painting is available, unframed, for $300.

September Snow - 9 X 12 inch original oil painting by Colorado artist Carol Hein

$150 unframed

With all of the snow we've had lately I thought I'd go back and revisit fall pictures to look for color.  LOL, look what I found.  No wonder it seems like a long, long winter!

This pretty little farmstead is on one of the back roads near Parker, Colorado.

Rocky Mountain High, Landscape Art, Wildlife Paintings, Western Art, Colorado Artist Carol Hein

Rocky Mountain High, 16 by 20 original oil painting The snow and cold that blew into Denver Tuesday night reminded me of this scene. The day of the storm is always a blustery, gray day but once the storm passes the Colorado sun comes out and creates a very enjoyable winter wonderland for man and beast! Sure enough, today is a glorious day. "Rocky Mountain High" is sold, however, if you are interested in viewing other works please visit my website carolhein.com If you are in Denver come to the ARTISTS OF COLORADO Holiday Show Opening Reception tonight, December 2, from 4 to 8 PM at 1705 S. Pearl Street.

Garden of the Gods # 1, CLUB 47, Contemporary Landscape Paintings, Landscape Art, Southwest Art, Southwest Paintings, Colorado Artist Carol Hein

Garden of the Gods #1 - 9 by 12 inch original oil painting.

I have been spending time plein air painting more and more on these beautiful fall days. The light is pure gold. I am not a fast painter and can only manage a black and white value study and a quickly executed color study. Finished paintings are completed in my studio.

Essex House, CLUB 47, Landscape Art, Landscape Paintings, Colorado Artist Carol Hein

5 by 7 inch original oil painting. Spotted this house along the CT River on a very hot and humid summer day. The water and the deep shade looked so cool and inviting that I just had to paint the scene.

Are You Listening? Figurative Art, Figurative Paintings, Colorado Artist Carol Hein

My daughter-in-law and I enjoyed a great conversation, coffee and a sweet roll at a local farmer's market on a recent Saturday. The whole time this fellow texted while his lady friend tried to carry on a one sided conversation. As you can tell from her body language, she was not a happy camper.
